Interns work daily with their mentors throughout the 12-week internship, which runs from approximately May 18 to August 7, with minor adjustments made for individual schedules of interns and mentors. Biweekly workshops for all interns are held at Wayne State to provide additional research training, team-building, skills- development, and information exchange among interns and mentors. Instructional activities and discussions include ethics training, statistics, social and economic analysis, dispute resolution, sustainability, and scientific and public communication.
The following schedule is a tentative schedule for 2015, based on the schedule of activities in the 2014 RISEUP program. The schedule will be updated, depending in part on the interests and projects of the students and availability of various mentors and content specialists:
